We are archaeologists or people interested in archaeology. Anthropologists etc are definately welcome! The aims of the club are to link deviants with an interest in archaeology, and to amass a collection (favs and submissions) which are related to all things archaeology (artefacts, ruins, digs, etc).

I've just bought a 3 month sub for the club! Now we can have a pretty journal (I'm looking at the freebies, but if anyone wants to volunteer to make the club some archaeology/heritage related css, it would be greatly appreciated!) and can display our stamps etc... let me know if you have any recommendations..

Sorry I have been offline for so long. I don't have the internet on at home at the moment (and havent since it broke in October) and so my internet usage has been serverely limited. I plan on getting this fixed shortly, so I found some time to log in. When we get a few more members, I will be asking around for someone to help out at a later stage, but it isnt an issue when we have 20 members.
I havent been keeping up with people's galleries, so if you have anything you have uploaded that we should favourite, or you have seen a brilliant deviation by someone else that is archaeology-related can you please let me know? just send me a note or click on the "share it/blog it" option on the deviation.
I'm getting a sub for the group again... the bloody stamps aren't showing up *sigh*

[link]About the team leaderMy name is Jacq, I am a 25 year old Aussie archaeologist, have been facinated with past cultures all my life, and had decided both my career, and my university by the time I was 14. My Honours topic was on the burial practice in Bronze and Iron Age Thai prehistory, of "killing" weapons for internment. The first archaeologists to come across this artefact behaviour gave the explanation that the weapons were ritualistically mutilated for burial, and no one has done any research since. *rubs hands in glee* absolutely facinating! My areas of interest are Bronze and Iron Age cultures in Asia, continental Europe, and South America, and my facination is with weaponry, metallurgy and warfare. I worked for an archaeology consultancy for a time after I finished uni, but now I work in IT cos I like to eat. Im planning on going back to uni soonish (year or two) and do my Masters (stupid finances).. My dA accounts are =
